This joint award programme provides various opportunities for you to apply core psychology knowledge within a corporate setting. The course enables you to study business and combine it with the study of human behaviour.
From developmental to cognitive study, psychology is a fascinating subject. It’s about bringing the study of human behaviour to practice in a hands-on and meaningful way.

Understanding human behaviour impacts significantly on key business roles such as marketing or human resource management and is a growth area. You could go on to work in the private, public or third sector, in roles within human resources management, executive leadership or advertising and marketing communications.

What facilities can I use?
Our library is packed with all the information you need for your assessments and there’s plenty of room to knuckle down for some quiet study.
Whilst studying with us you will also use our BucksAnywhere web service, which provides access to many of the software applications you use for learning and studying. BucksAnywhere can be used from your own device or from a University owned PC or laptop, from any location.
What will I study?
Your curriculum will cover subject specific modules in both psychology and business. You will be equipped with relevant transferable skills to better influence and understand how individuals, groups and organisations are motivated as well as how they think and buy.
You will gain a wide range of skills and competences useful for dealing competently with real-life, practical problems. The course will focus on the ability to think critically and will enable you to analyse and evaluate solutions to complex, real-life problems
This degree programme will help you gain a thorough grounding in qualitative research methods, which will provide invaluable for your future career. It will also help prepare you for research-based postgraduate study, if you choose to continue your studies following graduation.
How will I be taught and assessed?
This course is offered as a four-year programme, including an initial Foundation Year. The Foundation Year will allow you to develop your academic study skills and build confidence in your abilities, identifying your own strengths and development needs for progression onto an undergraduate degree.
As part of the programme you will work with actual business clients to help them solve a real-world problem. You will join two excellent schools in the University and be taught by lecturers from both the Psychology team and BNU Business School.
You will study business modules which develop knowledge which you will then apply in real business scenarios. You will also study the applications of psychology in a wide range of areas, focusing on businesses and organisations.
A range of summative assessment methods will be employed on this course, as follows:

- Dissertation.

A typical offer will require a UCAS tariff score of: 32 - 56
For this course, you'll need a GCSE Maths and English at grade C/4.
Applicants who do not meet the minimum requirements for the 3-year undergraduate programme, or those who do not feel fully prepared for a Level 4 course, will be considered for the 4-year programme including a Foundation Year. Our Business and Psychology course will help prepare you for a range of career possibilities in business management, with a particular focus on marketing and/or human resource management. This course will also help prepare you for a career in occupational psychology; with a growing focus on wellbeing in the workplace, this programme prepares graduates to meet this need.
Graduates can also choose to study for a postgraduate course.
