Parents and Carers
Going to university is a major milestone in your child’s life. It can also be a significant time for you as their parent or carer.
You want the best for them, and to feel confident they’re making a good choice for their career and future.
You may also have some questions about university and how it all works, and the part you can play in supporting them as they embark on this exciting new chapter.
This section hopefully covers some of the main things you might be thinking about – from choosing the right university, funding and the application process, to how you can help your son or daughter get ready for student life.
If you can’t find what you’re looking for here, please contact our enquiries team on 0330 123 2023, or encourage your son or daughter to. We’re here to help.

Applying
All applications for full-time UK undergraduate university courses need to come through UCAS (the Universities and Colleges Admissions Service). Check here for information on when and how to apply.

Making the Right Choice
Choosing a university is a big decision – possibly one of the biggest your son or daughter has had to make so far. So it’s vital they take their time, and look for an institution and course that fits with their aspirations and plans.

After they apply
We've put together a guide with everything you need to do once your son or daughter submit their university application; from replying to offers, to Clearing.

Getting ready
Getting ready to head off to uni can be an exciting time, but also potentially a bit of a daunting one (for you and for them), as your son or daughter prepares to leave home and fend for themselves.
