Sophia James

I head up the UK student recruitment team and widening participation at BNU. We spend most of our time working with young people at schools and colleges across the country, sharing the benefits of university and the amazing courses we have on offer. I’ve benefited from a scholarship in education, so I know how important they are and I am really passionate about students from every background getting the support they need.

I studied Politics and Sociology and later an MA in International Social Policy so naturally I love politics. In my downtime I’m a hockey goalie, playing for a local club, I cycle and lift weights too. I love live music, festivals and comedy nights and I’m often found at protests, from Black Lives Matters and Reclaim the Night, to Prides and Carnivals.
